A successful and joyful 2021

NORTHCLIFF – The school hopes that 2022 will shine a new light on Northcliff Primary School thanks to recent upgrades.

The year 2021 has been a good one for the learners, teachers and staff of Northcliff Primary School.

According to the school’s principal, Debbie Smith the educators and support staff have gone beyond what is expected to ensure our learners were safe and that all aspects of the curriculum were covered. Smith said, “Our school governing body has been supportive and ensured that our school facilities have been improved and conducive for developing learners that are well rounded, in the classroom and on the sports field.”

The school was also able to renovate and upgrade several parts of the premises this year thanks to the school’s Educational Trust Fund and funding from the Department of Education. “We have revamped and refurbished our library and it will be the centre of our school. It will provide a safe space for learners to join reading clubs, do puzzles, play games and develop a love for books and reading. Our foundation phase block will open in January 2022, offering our Grade 1 learners modern and updated classrooms and a flexible and stimulating learning environment.”

The school was quite pleased to have an extra-mural programme this year and they encouraged their learners to partake in learning new skills and developing co-operation and sportsmanship. A few learners did extremely well on the sports field, which included cricket players Daniel de Kock and Mumotidaishe Chirau who were selected for the North West Cricket and Zackary Soares who was selected for the Gauteng North Cricket team. Mia Johnson was selected for the Gauteng U14B hockey team.

Smith wished the learners, teachers and support staff, along with their family and friends a blessed holiday period and looks forward to seeing them again in 2022.
