What Ward 86 can expect in 2022

WARD 86 – Councillor Chantelle Fourie-Shawe shares what she hopes to achieve with the help of her community.

As we welcome the new year and all its possibilities, so does Ward 86 councillor Chantelle Fourie-Shawe.

She shared her vision for the year and what she hopes to achieve.

Her plan of action for 2022 and the issues she plans to drive is to fight against urban decay. “This is a global issue and I would like to help stop this from happening in different communities in my ward through partnerships with SAPS, JMPD, CPFs and the various departments within the City to make sure they all meet their service level agreements.”

She explained that this will help ensure people actually see service delivery and hopes this would be a preventative service delivery rather than a reactive one.

Fourie-Shawe also wants her community to be more hands-on. “I know there are so many people willing and able to help but are just not sure where their help is most needed, so I would like to get everyone involved.”

Her biggest drive for 2022 is that her ward faces minimal service delivery issues and explained that there is a whole lot of work to be done but, with the help of her community, she believes this is possible.
