Police arrest 21 over weekend

DOUGLASDALE – Those arrested over the weekend of November 12 and 14 are expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court soon.

Thanks to a number of operations conducted in the area, Douglasdale police arrested 21 suspects between November 12 and 14.

Captain Mpho Tshetlhane, spokesperson for the Douglasdale Police Station said the suspects were arrested for a number of different crimes.

“The crimes ranged between assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, common robbery, possession of suspected drugs, theft, dealing in liquor without a license, drunk and driving, common assault, and contravention of the Disaster Management Act,” she said.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court soon.

Details: Community members are encouraged to keep reporting all criminal activities in their areas to the police by phoning 011 699 1300 or 08600 10111.

Alternatively, they can use the MySAPS to send anonymous tip-offs or visit their nearest police station.
