Usually, De La Salle Holy Cross College has the smiling faces of their learners to provide joy on any given day.
Recently, however, the school found joy not only in the smiling faces, but the bursts of glorious cultural colours that Heritage Day brought with it.
The staff and learners celebrated the day together, with learners swapping their uniform for their cultural attire.
An assembly was held on the field where everyone shared prayers in different languages expressive of their heritage.
“We are a diverse community and an occasion such as Heritage Day gives everyone an opportunity to celebrate who they are by wearing an outfit that is meaningful to them,” said deputy head of the junior high school, Colette Marx.
