Sokzin ready for Europe

COSMO CITY – Local DJ gears up for big performance at a festival in Europe.

Family and community members can be proud of a Cosmo City DJ headed to Europe to perform.

Mpakamiso Sokhela, who goes by the tag Sokzin, has been deejaying since he was 14, 11 years ago.

Born and raised in a small town in KwaZulu-Natal called Ezakheni, Sokhela will appear on the biggest stage of his life so far, come August next year.

“I am a resident DJ at Nova Mescla, one of the biggest streaming shows and DJ promoters in Belgium,” he explained.

“They are in partnership with the Sonus festival that usually takes place in August every year and I am invited to showcase my skills. It will be held at Pag Island Croatia.”

The young DJ has never been outside South Africa’s borders and he told Randburg Sun he is very excited. “I feel like standing on top off the cliff and screaming.”

The DJ described himself as a motivated, outgoing and socially-confident person. “My favourite kind of music or should I say the music that I enjoy playing is Afrohouse and deep house, specifically selected to touch the soul with my belief that music is an emotional feeling that will never die. When I am on stage doing my thing I feel like I am in my own world with no worries, and seeing the audience dancing to my music – that motivates me to do more.”
