Learning Steam at Orban Skool is fun

WESTDENE – The school had some of its learners learn about technology in fun ways.

There is nothing more fun than getting introduced to interesting ways to learn especially during childhood.

Recently, the grades 3, 6, and 7 classes of Orban Skool had their first opportunity to build and explore using the Lego WeDo 2.0. This is said to be a hands-on Steam learning solution, designed to develop elementary school learners’ confidence to solve problems.

Steam has the intention to teach the children science, technology, engineering and maths.

The school acknowledged that its learners will enter a technology-focused world after school and do jobs that don’t even exist yet.

During this Steam class, each learner got to build a fan, connect it to an iPad/computer via Bluetooth and explored the world of coding by programming the speed/time and direction of the blades of the fan.

They could even add colour and lights when the fans started spinning.
