De La Salle Holy Cross College made sure to send off Mandela Month with a truck filled with kindness.
On Mandela Day, the school was proud to share that many of its learners along with their families, took part in random acts of kindness. From making sandwiches and soup for the homeless to donating pet food and blankets to animal shelters, the day had no shortage of kind acts.
They made sure to end off the month with a grand act of goodwill. Through the generosity of the school’s community, they were able to support two initiatives to send food and supplies to KwaZulu-Natal.
The school’s community donated baby food, formula, nappies and non-perishable food that was sent to orphanages and old age homes in the province as part of a Safetygrip initiative.
A big truck’s worth of supplies and food was also delivered to the Eshowe community and the St Joseph’s Child and Youth Care Centre. The school thanked all those who so kindly donated to these initiatives.
