So you are sitting at home right now just racking your brain with thoughts of fulfilling that dream business idea that has plagued your existence for years. More especially, like many in our community, this thought has become glaringly more pertinent in the past year.
To spur on your dreams of inevitable success is Duncan Prior, who after years of working in advertising, decided to turn his dreams into reality. Now he gets to put his landscaping qualification to good use as he opened the Concrete Jungle Nursery. An eclectic nursery whose most prominent feature, outside of the plants, of course, is the huge geodesic dome that houses them. “I just wanted to create more of an experiential nursery, things just aren’t in rows.” Found on the roof of Northcliff Corner, Prior said there is not many nurseries in the area.
He has big hopes for his business with many ideas to still come to fruition. Outside of his bold conviction of self and inherent belief of ultimate success, Prior’s life has echoed the traits of the indigenous plants that have added joy to his life, “I always wanted things in my life to grow and be beautiful.”
He would like to implore everyone to have a hustle, adding one too has to think outside of the box, using whatever talent you have. Staying in line with his eccentric personality is the aesthetic of the nursery that uses experiential elements to showcase plants and uniqueness.
Like many of us, Prior’s life, in recent years has been far from easy, but like you, he has managed to turn pain into a promise of more happiness to come. “You think your life is in chaos, then suddenly you start to see all the pieces come together and you see the reason for the pain you went through.”
