A suspect was arrested by Brixton police for possession of suspected stolen goods worth more than R200 000.

Spokesperson for the Brixton Police Station, Jeanette Backhoff said a 40-year-old man was arrested on 29 April after being found in possession of the goods. Backhoff added, “After police were [tipped off] they immediately made their way to the address and on their arrival they found one male aged 40 in the house with goods all packed in boxes. The suspect could not explain were the goods came from and could not show any proof of payment.”

Backhoff added that the man was arrested and charged with being in possession of suspected stolen goods. On further investigation, police discovered that the suspect had arrest warrants issued against him for various crimes committed. “Further investigations will be conducted and more suspects may be arrested as it is suspected to be a syndicate operating in and around the Brixton area.”
