Traffic flow back to normal on Empire and Yale roads as the student protest settles

JOBURG – The roads were blocked throughout the day due to the University of the Witswatersrand's student protest.


The metro police have managed to disperse students at the main Wits University entrance on Empire and Yale roads.

Caxton Joburg north journalist Andile Dlodlo is on the scene and confirms that students are slowly regrouping while others are currently injured due to the stun grenades shot at them by the police.

Today (10 March) is the second day of the student protest. They attribute their march to demands for better access to financial support and the #FeesMustFall campaign.
