Another 100 per cent for Brandcliff House

FAIRLAND – Teachers' sacrifices help matric Class of 2020 excel through the unpredictable and unexpected.

Brandcliff House achieves another 100 per cent with this year’s matric group.

The teachers, principal, staff and parents of Brandcliff House were proud of the performance of their learners when the matric results were released on 23 February. School principal Jonathan Linde said that he was most proud that all matrics were able to pass regardless of the challenges that came with the academic year of 2020. “The learners were worried about their performance due to Covid-19 but they exceeded their own expectations and performed quite well. We got a lot of distinctions in the language subjects and a high number of bachelor admission passes. Well done to Brandcliff House’s matric Class of 2020.”

The school is fully confident that each and every one of their matriculants will find well-deserved success in their future endeavours.

The school’s top learner for 2020 was Taliah Samodien who achieved two distinctions including scoring 91 per cent for Afrikaans. According to Linde, Taliah had consistently achieved high academic results throughout her time at the school and was awarded Top Academic Student in 2020. Additionally, she was elected as a leader in her final year at the school and has always been regarded as an outstanding ambassador for Brandcliff House.

Linde commended the teachers and staff who were involved in ensuring that the Matric Class of 2020 was fully supported and prepared for the year. “You can’t quantify the effort put in by our school’s teaching team but the results show that it was all worth it. The many hours of hard work has finally bared fruit and your learners will reap the rewards of your teaching.”
Linde extended gratitude to Brandcliff House’s teachers and teachers across the country for the sacrifices they made and frustrations they endured due to Covid-19 and celebrated them as heroes.
