Stolen bike found buried under grass

ROOSEVELT PARK – Bike owners warned to be more careful following stolen bike

SCP Security is warning owners of motorcycles following the theft and recovery of a bike in Roosevelt Park.

According to the director Clive Maher, the stolen bike was recovered by an SCP Security officer just before 3am on 15 February.

“At around 2.45am members patrolling the Roosevelt Park area noticed a house gate open on Milner Avenue. Upon informing the resident of the open gate they confirmed that a motorcycle worth R380 000 had been stolen. A trail leading into the veld areas along Milner Avenue was searched and the motorcycle was found covered in grass.”

Maher added that the crime is growing increasingly popular after noticing a rise in motorcycle thefts across Johannesburg through his crime pages and contacts. Maher has also reviewed CCTV footage of the suspects involved in the bike theft.

He has warned bike-owners in the area to ensure their vehicles are locked away at night and not visible to those passing by at night.
