Reddford House Northcliff’s Sindiswa Sithole ready for University of Ottawa

NORTHCLIFF – In the midst of real emotional turmoil and distress and an epic struggle for survival during her matric year, the Covid-19 pandemic did not make things any easier during her best and final year of school.

Sindiswa Sithole is no stranger to adversity. Having lost her dad and breadwinner at the tender age of six, day-to-day living was a desperate struggle.

Some funds were set aside for her education and home-schooling indicated she was dyslexic and ADHD, but Sindiswa continued to focus resolutely on her studies to ensure she did not fall behind.

Commencing her high school career in Grade 8 at Reddford House Northcliff in 2016, she initially had no textbooks or standard uniform, but still took notes on a pad to learn, commuting a long distance with public transport at all hours.

Despite this hardship, Sithole found a second home at Reddford House Northcliff and formed a bond with staff, teachers and students who warmly embraced her, assisting wherever possible with tuition, transport and sustenance.

After five years at Reddford House Northcliff, Sithole has flourished into a proud and confident young lady, ready to face the world and awaiting confirmation of her acceptance to the University of Ottawa in Canada.
