A bold 2021 for the Fairland CPF

FAIRLAND – The CPF shares its challenges of 2020 and what they hope this new year brings.

The Fairland Community Police Forum stands strong and resolute as they look towards 2021 which they hope will be a better year for all.

Public relations officer for the forum, Mike Styer said 2020 was a year of rapid change and one could be assured that this year was going to be just as disruptive. He added that most people would like to put last year behind them. “So getting to the end of the year was a relief in a way,” he said.

Styer added that the forum was proud they were able to weather the storm that was last year. “The CPF executive and structures have remained intact and resolute. Our Victim Support Team is providing much-needed support to the community and the patrollers are out there with even more members.”

One of the most challenging experiences of last year for the forum was being inactive through levels 5 to 3 of the lockdown. “Whilst we understood the lockdown was implemented to keep everyone safe, it was very frustrating to be stood down, sitting on the side lines and not be in a position to assist our fellow community members during this time.”

A firm pledge the forum has made is that it would always be available to its community as they have done before and rise to challenges faced as they transition in the ‘new normal’.
“We will continue our efforts to keep the Fairland policing precinct as one of the safest areas to live in the whole of South Africa.”

Styer concluded, “May every wish you made in 2020 for health, hope and help be realised and may the dark places left by 2020 be filled with light, love and happiness in 2021.”
