Bakkie roll over leaves 17 injured

ER24 paramedics responded to a bakkie that had overturned at about 6.40am on 8 January.

The bakkie rolled on the N1 highway between Beyers Naude Drive and 14th Avenue in Fairlands.

ER24 paramedics along with other emergency services arrived on the scene to find the bakkie on the side of the highway. Several people were found scattered around the scene.

“Medics assessed the patients and found that 17 people had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no fatalities were found on the scene,” said ER24 in a statement. “The patients were treated and thereafter transported to nearby hospitals for further care.”

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
