A great festive season wish for Ward 99

WARD 99 – Councillor Nicole van Dyk hopes the country's inherent spirit of goodwill continues throughout the festive season.

This year has been a hellish, and unexpected year for sure. However, with the varying circumstances we all individually faced, we still came through all the stronger and better for it.

So, as we look upon the festive season it is important we remind ourselves what we have survived and the family and friends we surround ourselves with during this time.

Ward 99 councillor Nicole van Dyk shared her wishes:

My dearest Ward 99 residents,

I would like to take this time to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. This year, more so than ever, we have had to unite as a community – and boy did this community unite. Week after week we saw more people crying out for help and week after week we saw people offering up whatever good will they could, whether it was a litre of milk or place to stay.

The communities’ hearts opened up and reminded us what we could do when we come together. I hope the lessons we learnt this year, the lesson of how valuable our families and friends are, the value of a hug, the value of a smile, the value of a kind gesture, that we never forget these. Let’s go into the new year with love, respect and our inherent South African spirit of goodwill.
