The Ridge School in Westcliff extends their thanks to their school community for rallying together behind their latest drive to donate items to 67 Blankets for Mandela Day.

The school donated a total of 515 knitted, crocheted, purchased and pre-loved scarves, 15 woollen hats, a pair of gloves and 93 blankets to Carolyn Steyn, founder of the 67 Blankets for Mandela Day initiative.

Marketing manager at The Ridge Joe Kotwal said, “We are immensely proud and grateful to our Ridge family for their generosity and commitment to this project.”

Steyn said of the school, “Thank you so much for your incredible support and for bringing The Ridge on board as members of our wonderful 67 Blankets family.”

“Who would have thought seven years ago that a simple idea, a ball of wool and a crochet hook, would result in a global movement of knitting so many lives together and ‘stitch by stitch’ keeping many thousands of people living in dire need warmer over the cold winter months?”

Steyn continued, “I am so grateful for all that you and your team do in the name of our beloved Madiba and I so look forward to many years of partnership, collaboration and ‘knitting lives and our nation together’.”
