Covid-19: Deaths reach 5 368, recoveries pass 200 000 mark

The official number of Covid-19 related deaths in South Africa has now reached 5 368, with recoveries at 208 144 and total positive cases at 381 798.

Gauteng is the province with the highest number of infections, at 139 435, followed by the Western Cape at 86 329 and the Eastern Cape at 66 759.

A total of 2 536 921 tests have been conducted, with 1 432 051 of those conducted in private facilities and 1 104 870 in public facilities.
