Supporting education by buying face masks

With many employers and employees preparing to return to work during lockdown level four, Health minister Zweli Mkhize recommended that all South Africans should wear material masks when entering public spaces.

Medical masks are to be left for healthcare workers. This created an opportunity for individuals and businesses to make good quality masks. You can now order masks for you and your co-workers, and support the future of a child, by purchasing your masks from Sparrow Schools.

The schools Educational Trust has partnered with Garyn Investments to achieve this.

Renata Noble, Sparrow Schools Educational Trust CSI Manager said, “Sparrow Schools Educational Trust will be selling masks, with all the proceeds going towards our bursary fund. All Masks are double layered as per National Institute for Communicable Diseases.”

From each mask that is sold, R5 will be donated towards the Sparrow Schools Bursary Fund. Founded in 1992, Sparrow Schools Educational Trust has answered the call for specialised, learner-centred education for children coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as those with remedial needs.

Through their foundation school and support from their partners they have been able to provide affordable, quality special needs education to learners who would otherwise be unable to access these specialised services, given the rising cost of remedial teaching and learning facilities.

Learners with Sparrow Schools gain access to onsite speech therapists, a social worker, counsellors, a remedial therapist and an educational psychologist to provide a holistic teaching and learning environment.

Each mask costs R35 (excluding Vat) and companies, businesses and anyone else that needs them can order as many as they need. Once ordered, deliveries will be made within a week of payment.

To order the masks go to www.rytoga.co.za. If there is any other way you would like to assist Sparrow Schools or contribute to their bursary fund please contact Renate Noble.
