21 Eskom employees test positive for Covid-19

The affected workers are all in the Western Cape.

Twenty-one Eskom employees and contractors in the Western Cape have tested positive for Covid-19, Eskom Chief Executive Officer, André de Ruyter confirmed earlier today (21 May) during a “state of the system” briefing. Those infected were, he said, currently receiving the necessary medical care.

The power utility added that ‘comprehensive and focused’ efforts were in place to protect employees and contractors, in compliance with the government’s Covid-19 health and safety regulations.
