Linden CPF encourages community support for those in need

Donations can be made in the form of financial assistance or physical donations of non-perishable food items, clothing, and bedding.

The impact of the lockdown has had far reaching implications on the community, and the Linden Community Police Forum have realised this.

Linden Community Police Forum secretary Annelize Tichauer said, “The Linden CPF has partnered with residents associations, as well as several NPO’s and NPC’s in our area to make sure that we collectively reach all the families in need in our precinct.”

She said that it is vital to do this as a coordinated effort to ensure that the CPF does not reach a point where a family that is truly in need is missed.

“The Linden CPF is therefore encouraging communities and individuals wanting to help to please do so via any of the organizations listed on our website,” said Tichauer.

Donations can be made in the form of financial assistance or physical donations of non-perishable food items, clothing, and bedding.

She added, “Asking for help is not easy. If you need help, or know of someone that does, please contact any of our channels listed.”The Linden police precinct has always opened their hearts to those who are most in need.”

She said that various organisations are in need of winter clothing. The clothing needs to be in good condition for adults, children and babies, and needs to be sorted. There is also a dire need for food and care parcels.

Goods needed include tea bags, coffee, sugar, rice/maize/macaroni/lentils/beans, instant breakfast porridge, cooking oil, jam/peanut butter, Marmite, soup powder (500g packets), soya mince, creamer, tinned foods, box milk, stock, salt, sanitary pads, Vaseline/lotion, roll on, soap, toothpaste, toilet paper, sunlight green soap bars/handwashing powder.
