The total number of people infected with Covid-19 in South Africa is now sitting at 15 515, according to a statement released by the Department of Health.
This is an increase of 1 160 cases since yesterday’s announcement.
The Western Cape and Eastern Cape saw the highest number of increases per province, with 890 and 124 new confirmed cases respectively. Gauteng had 67 new cases, KwaZulu-Natal 45, and Limpopo 18. Free State, Mpumalanga, North West and Northern Cape each confirmed new cases in the single digits.
The number of deaths countrywide has risen by 3 to 264.
Also rising though is the total number of recoveries, now at 7 006.

• Free State: 108
• Gauteng: 1583
• KwaZulu-Natal: 817
• Limpopo: 37
• Mpumalanga: 49
• North West: 28
• Northern Cape: 24
• Western Cape: 3521
The number of tests conducted to date stands at 460 873, with 21 314 completed in the last 24-hour cycle.
The Department has also revealed that of those who have died, 56 percent are male, and 44 percent female.
