Covid-19: local businesses need your support

Caxton Local Media would like to highlight a few advertisers who are working hard to service our community during these tough times.

The time is now, more than ever, to support our local businesses.

With the National lockdown in full effect, businesses in our area are doing all that they can to meet customer demands, and keep their doors open.

As consumers, there are ways that you can support businesses, and save jobs. By buying local, you support those around you who need it most. Even during lockdown, consider buying gift vouchers to redeem at a later stage, or be ready to shop as soon as the lockdown is lifted.

A number of local businesses have been hard at work ensuring that consumers remain supplied with essential goods and services. Top hygiene practices are being followed, along with social distancing regulations to ensure that consumers remain safe while shopping for those essential goods.

This week, SPAR, Pick n Pay and Food Lover’s Market are all offering specials on basic supplies. Boledi Air Conditioning is informing readers that they will reopen after the lockdown, and British International Distance College is keeping learners upddated.

• SPAR’s specials include 2L Coldrinks, ice cream milk and breakfast cereals at fantastic prices.

• Pick n Pay is offering great prices on meat, coffee, and washing powder. They also have supplies needed for the care of babies including nappies and wet wipes, as well as vegetable hampers.

• Food Lover’s Market has chosen to highlight the value of farmers during these uncertain times – their campaign, Our farmers, our heroes, sees them offering great prices on avocados, meat and various staple vegetables.

• Another sector being massively impacted by the National lockdown is of course schools. British International Distance College is keeping children informed and educated with staff working remotely while the lockdown is in place.

• Boledi Air Conditioners will open for business once the National Lockdown comes to an end.

All sectors of our communities are having to think creatively during this time, and we ask community members to be supportive of local businesses in their bid to service your needs.
