Emmarentia AGM postponed

EMMARENTIA – New date for AGM will be communicated soon.

ERA apologises after having to postpone AGM due to load-shedding.

The Emmarentia Residents Association (ERA) was scheduled to have their annual general meeting on 11 March but unfortunately could not. According to Claire Hoffmann of the ERA, the reason the meeting was postponed was due to unforeseen load-shedding on the night. She has extended an apology to all those that had planned to attend the meeting but ensured that a new date is being discussed.

At the meeting, the association was planning to discuss matters of finances, building, communication, security and other matters. On the note of security and illegal building, Hoffman said, “Security is one of the major concerns in our suburb as well as in Johannesburg as a whole as well as illegal building in Emmarentia. Another big issue is power outages due to outdated infrastructure.”

These issues will still be discussed and residents are advised to prepare any queries they have for the night.

Residents have been urged to keep in communication with the association to find out when the AGM will take place. This will also enable them to learn more about their special projects for 2020 such as getting a heritage plaque and information board placed at the Geldenhuys Cemetery. The ERA is focused on having a productive 2020 but needs the residents to join in.

Hoffmann said, “More members and more communication with the ERA means that we can do more to help residents.”
