Woodside’s lovely Valentine’s

AUCKLAND PARK – The love of friends and family celebrated with friends and family.

Woodside Sanctuary gets together to celebrate the love on Valentine’s Day.

Woodside Sanctuary would not allow themselves to miss out on Valentine’s Day festivities that everyone was planning to enjoy on the day. On 14 February, the home for the profoundly intellectually and physically disabled hosted their very own celebrations for their residents and staff. Marketing and fundraising manager, Gugulethu Mthethwa expressed, “Woodside feels that it is important that our angels get to experience special occasions such as Valentine’s Day just like any other member of society.”

With red and white as the colour themes, amazing food and snacks ready to be jumped into and some of the best people to enjoy a day with, they guaranteed to have themselves a great day.

Mthethwa shared what she felt was the highlight of the event. “Seeing the absolute joy and excitement in the eyes of every resident at Woodside and that no matter the level of disabilities each resident faces, each individual got to experience friendship, love and being part of the Woodside family.”

Mthethwa said the event was put together by their management team in the name of friendship, family and love. “Our angels had a fantastic day, and got so many yummy snacks and took part in various fun activities throughout the day. Our staff also enjoyed the fun by taking part in a special Valentine’s Day fashion show.”

She also shared her appreciation for all those that have kept Woodside in their thoughts. “We wanted to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude for the incredible support and kindness which have been shown to Woodside and our angels throughout the years by our wonderful supporters in the community.

“Without them, we would not be able to provide our much-needed services to those in need.”

Mthethwa also wished the public a great month of love from Woodside Sanctuary.
