WINDSOR EAST – Matumba pleaded with the Linden and Windsor East community to help two children, abandoned by their mother, to help find her.

Linden Police Station spokesperson Constable Takalani Matumba was notified by a local clinic that two children from Zimbabwe had been abandoned by their mother on 15 January in Windsor East.

Matumba pleaded with the Linden and Windsor East community to help find the mother of the two children Allicie and Alister Antonio or any family member on her social media accounts. The post read, “Their mother’s name is said to be Bridgette and they are from Zimbabwe.”

Matumba explained that the mother left her children with a woman and asked her to take care of them until she comes back after work, however, the mother never did.

She said she shared the photo in the hopes that people would spread the message on their own accounts and it worked. ” I received information from WhatsApp where people said they know the grandmother and uncle of the family. ”

The grandmother told Matumba that she last heard from the mother on 2 February when she called her. She was completely unaware of the situation. “The grandmother will be taking care of the children, she is organising to send them back to Zimbabwe to be with their father.”

Matumba added that the children are in good health. They do not know the whereabouts of the mother.
