Fairland CPF’s forever active patrollers and victim support unit thanked for their efforts

FAIRLAND – Burgers, cold drinks and laughs replace statements and reports at this CPF meeting.

CPF looks to start 2020 with a bang following their first two get-togethers of the year.

The Fairland Community Policing Forum (CPF) looks forward to more success in 2020 following a successful year of safety and security activity in the previous year. The star projects of the CPF, which were also named the best Community Project of the Year by Northcliff Melville Times readers, the community patrollers and victim support unit were invited to the Fairland Police Station to meet relax and socialise after a busy 2019 and start to 2020.

Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Clive de Freitas stated that the get-together was hosted to celebrate the CPF for the work they did in 2019. “We couldn’t meet at the end of 2019 because there were too many things going on but today we are meeting in a relaxed space. Every time we meet it’s to deal with crime but we wanted to get a chance to be together and reflect.”

Along with special guests and friends from Ward 88 Felicity Gratz-Lawlor, they enjoyed the stressless session they had in the late afternoon. With a filling meal provided for by the station, the CPF, its patrollers and victim support unit spent their time sharing jokes, reflecting on their experiences and drop a few hints on what they plan to bring to the table in 2020.

De Freitas also thanked every single CPF member and resident for their commitment to making the area a safer place for all. He stated that the constant support and participation in policing efforts in the area goes a long way in fighting crime. Fairland police are looking forward to continuing their relationship with the CPF and all their partners in the precinct.
