From 22 November to 24 November, police from different parts of the Johnnesburg District including Douglasdale, Diepsloot, Florida, Linden, Roodepoort, Honeydew and Randburg arrested 169 suspects during operations that were conducted throughout the areas.
The suspects were arrested for different crimes which ranged from pointing of firearm, fraud, armed robbery, rape, attempted murder, dealing in liquor without a licence, assault, common possession of suspected stolen property, possession of drugs, grievous bodily harm, theft and shoplifting.
The arrested suspects are scheduled to appear in the Randburg and Roodepoort magistrates’ courts soon.
The police have also appealed to members of the community to report all criminal activities in their area by contacting their nearest police station, 086 001 0111 or alternatively use the newly launched MySAPS app to provide tip-offs anonymously. The nearest police station can also be found using the MySAPS app.
