Pharmacy robbers arrested within 24-hours

LINDEN – After the robbery of a Linden pharmacy, all suspects were arrested within 24-hours.

After a search ensued for four armed suspects following the robbery of a Linden pharmacy, Linden Police Station’s Captain Alex Vermaak confirmed all suspects have been arrested.

On 16 November, the police’s Trio Task Team worked on anonymous information provided to them to track down the suspects to a location in the Johannesburg CBD.

All four suspects, who are all in their late 20s, were arrested without a fight and will appear in court soon to face charges of assault and business robbery.

On 15 November, the four-armed suspects, who were driving a silver Nissan Almera, targeted the pharmacy on 3rd Avenue in Linden during the late afternoon.

A pharmacy staff member was injured after he was hit over the head by an armed person during the incident.

The suspects demanded cash and got away with various items stolen from the store and taken off staff in the brazen robbery.

An ambulance was called to treat the injured staff member, whose wounds were treated on the scene. Security and police promptly responded to the scene, and an investigation into the matter immediately took place.
