Da La Salle Holy Cross College’s 2020 leaders

VICTORY PARK – All the best to Da La Salle's 2020 leaders.

The 2020 leaders and councillors were announced at a special assembly at De La Salle Holy Cross College High School recently.

The current college leaders of 2019 ceremoniously lit candles and handed over their badges to the new leaders, wishing them all the best, which is a long-standing college tradition.

Atholl Murray, the high school headmaster, applauded those that were selected to serve the school. “I would like to extend our community’s congratulations and best wishes to our new councillors. May they take inspiration from the teachings of Jesus Christ who believed that the way of a great leader is to be but a humble servant.”

He added that servant leaders always look to serve others first before themselves, strengthening their abilities and giving credit to others.

Newly elected head girl and boy Katherine Brislin and Chad Martin expressed their joy for being elected into the positions they will hold for the next year. Brislin said, “I feel so privileged to have been elected as head girl for 2020. I am extremely excited about the coming year and eager to contribute to the continued success of the college.”

Martin said, “I feel honoured to have been chosen as head boy for 2020. I hope that with Jesus’ example of servant leadership, I may be able to encourage others to always uphold our school motto ‘Be first that you may be of service’.”

The two are very confident in themselves as prefect body and learners for the coming year.
