Information on what to do if abused to be shared by Domestic Watch

JOBURG – Get all the information you need to know about dealing with abuse.

A local organisation is set to host several talks on abuse in various Johannesburg communities.

Gender-based violence is a crisis in South Africa. This is why organisations such as Domestic Watch have planned to host ‘Abuse is a Crime’, which will be 10 discussion sessions in 10 communities between 21 and 30 August sharing information for the public on abuse.

Hosted by Penny Steyn of Domestic Watch and SAPS Customer Service Training, the talks are aimed at bringing awareness around issues and challenges faced by victims of abuse.

Steyn said, “Of course we all probably know someone, somewhere, somehow who knows someone who has been abused or is being abused. So it is time to present this topic.”

She stated that the sessions will offer the public a chance to know where to turn and how to manage any form of abuse. Steyn added that lots of wisdom life skills and soft skills will be included in this lesson.
