All set for Fairland Spring Market Day

FAIRLAND – Get ready for this year's Fairland Spring Market Day.

If you enjoyed last year’s Fairland Community Policing Forum’s (CPF) Spring Market Day or missed it, here is some great news – the 2019 edition will be hosted at the Market Street Park in Fairland on 6 October.

Yasmine Miemiec of the CPF shared details of the market day and the importance of hosting such an event. “The market is the CPF’s annual fundraiser, with the funds this year being allocated to the training of the Victim Support Unit (VSU) volunteers and for equipment for the patrollers.”

In addition to the many food stalls, crafts, children’s activities, security dog demonstrations and entertainment to be provided for by Fairland Radio, the market day will also give community members a chance to meet and discoverer the groups working tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of the area. The CPF, Fairland Patrollers and Victim Support Unit members will be there throughout the day and look forward to engaging with the community on various issues in a relaxed, enjoyable space.

Miemiec hopes to see all the residents of Fairland attending the market day, “The VSU and patrollers perform incredible services for the community and deserve all our support. The entrepreneurs too, make an incredible effort for the day, and need all the sales they can get, especially in these tough times. But more importantly, the community should come to meet their fellow community members, and to have fun with their families.”

If last year’s event is anything to judge by, with it being highly informative and fun, then this year’s version will be even better.
