Drawing boards donation needed

AUCKLAND PARK – Charity hopes to turn their children into fine artists.

A burn survivor charity is looking to collect drawing boards.

Everyone deserves the joy of running their pencil across a blank piece of paper and letting their imagination run wild. The same can be said for those at the Children of Fire (ChiFi) and to make sure that happens, they have come out and asked the community to help make this a reality. They are currently calling for donations of drawing boards to help give the children under their care a chance to exercise their creative muscles.

Musa Bvuma of the ChiFi shared his opinion on why this is an important cause. “We are asking for help to reach our objective by donating new or second-hand drawing boards, small or big. We at ChiFi believe that everyone deserves a chance in life to be the best they can be, thus, we are trying to bring out our children’s talents.”

Children of Fire ChiFi is a charity which takes in, cares for, educates and rehabilitates burn survivors be it from fire, hot liquids, electric currents or chemicals such as acid. According to Bvuma, the charity has already enlisted the services of a graphic designer to help shape all the creativity towards beautiful pieces of art. Bvuma stated that they would love to use art as a recreational activity and give their children a new life experience.

Drop-offs can be made at 58 Auckland Avenue, Auckland Park, Johannesburg. To make a cash donation please visit their website, www.childrenoffire.org.
