Linden Police Station’s Mandela Day

LINDEN – A day spent honouring Mandela and the children at Casa Do Sol.


Officers at the Linden Police Station spent Mandela Day on 18 July with the learners of Casa Do Sol school.

Casa Do Sol School caters to learners with special educational needs between the ages of six and 21.

Constable Takalani Matumba gave the learners a talk on the topic of bullying from outside the school or by anybody who makes fun of their condition. “I encouraged the learners to love themselves and not let anyone bully them.”

The learners were also taught about the importance of Nelson Mandela International Day on 18 July and how the day should be honoured. They all had fun when they competed in Madiba dance’s and the best dancer got awarded.

The officers also distributed food parcels amongst the learners and spent time with them at their classrooms.
