Linden-based event hosts Winter Solstice market day
LINDEN – Garden on 4th seeks to entertain and please many in the near future.
A day filled with food, fashion, and entertainment at one of the suburb’s favourite market days.
Hot bowls of soup, wood-fired pizzas, musical performances, and lots of goodies on sale. This and many more fun things to do were on-site for those attending Linden’s Winter Solstice which was held at Garden on 4th on 22 June. With the sun beaming down on the event there were nothing but smiles and laughs as people spoilt themselves with everything that was on offer. Organiser of the event, Elrie van Eck said, “There’s an antique store selling things from the French Renaissance times, we have our own chocolatiers, exquisite clothing labels on sale, wedding dress designers and tailors, restaurants. There’s something for everyone here.”
What many didn’t know was that there was a fashion show lined up for those in attendance. A special group of children took to the runway to exhibit some of the nicest styles looks for their age groups. With the cameras flashing and music pumping, the young models showed off dresses, ponchos, jerseys, jackets and more.
Van Eck stated that she wanted this space to become a part of the community by opening it up for others to host their own events as well. She said, “The community of Linden is one of love and interaction. We are opening our doors to those that are looking for a place to meet, relax, engage and make a living. We want to be a part of this community by offering our space to them.”
In the meanwhile, Van Eck is hard at work for her next event which is scheduled to take place in October. Judging off the Winter Solstice, the next one is guaranteed to be another day of fun for all.
