Buddies4Ever NPC will teach a new skill

GREYMONT – The vinyl project will be open to anyone wanting to learn a new skill regardless of their age, race or gender, background or financial status.

Non-profit organisation Buddies4Ever will be taking on a new project where their education and animal welfare departments will join forces to teach unskilled men and women how to make, apply and resell vinyl car stickers.

The project will officially launch on Youth Day, 16 June, at the Buddies4ever shop in Greymont. Reselling of the vinyl items will take place at the Greymont shop as well as weekly flea markets, car dealerships, schools and direct sales.

Buddies4Ever CEO Riaan Greeff said, “This project is not only in aid to get especially the younger community of the streets but also a fundraiser for our animal welfare department. The project will be held throughout Gauteng and available to any person wanting to learn about vinyl, regardless of race, gender or age.”

The organisation, started in March 2017, has two departments, animal as well as education welfare and focus on lower income groups to help make it affordable for them to own pets. They work with service providers such as Vetcare Greymont and resell top quality brands at affordable prices. The centre resells pet food, toys, accessories and also offers off-site sterilisations at private vets as well as grooming, at reduced prices.

Buddies4ever’s executive director of education, Luwayne Cader, decided on the car sticker project, which he will be running, after a generous donation from Intamarket graphics. Cader loves vinyl and he believes this is one of the more fun and creative ways one can make use of vinyl.

Greeff explained how the project will work, “This project is open to anyone wanting to learn a new skill regardless of their age, race or gender, background or financial status. There is no fee to join. It is completely free of charge throughout the project. We aim to boost the local community so anyone from high school students, unemployed, even recovering addicts or people trying to start afresh are welcome.

“The learning areas that will be taught include market research, basic design, manufacturing, packaging, sales and marketing and application of vinyl.”

Greeff urges anyone who wants to become involved, either as a student or sponsor, to visit buddies4ever at their premises at the Northcliff Piazza Shopping Centre. Alternatively, visit their Facebook page www.facebook.com/buddiescares or email info@buddies4ever.org.za for more information.
