Abbotts Colleges compete in inter-campus sports day

NORTHCLIFF – For a school that does not focus on sports but supports club sporting activities, Abbotts College learners are a talented sporting group.


Abbotts Colleges showed team spirit when they participated in their annual inter-campus sports day, hosted by their Pretoria East Campus at the ISE Indoor Sports and Entertainment Arena.

The four Gauteng Abbotts Colleges, Northcliff, Centurion, Pretoria East and Joburg South campuses participated in vastly competitive sports on the day.

The different sports that the schools participated in were action soccer, action netball, touch rugby, action cricket, chess, darts and table tennis. The Pretoria East campus hosts took home the overall winner’s trophy for the day with 146 points ahead of Centurion on 145.

The principal of the winning campus, Neels Geertsema said, “It was not about winning or losing, it was about having fun, making new friends and building lasting memories.”

Last year, Abbotts College Joburg South took home the trophy but this year they placed third with 99 points. Abbotts College Northcliff finished on 82 points.

Overall, the day was packed with excitement and adrenaline.

Learners of Abbotts College Northcliff shared their experience, mentioning that this event was one of many exciting events that Abbotts Colleges hosted and expressed their excitement for their upcoming inter-campus arts festival.
