The heroes of Reddford House

NORTHCLIFF – Reddford House proves they, just like doctors, can save the lives of many.

The learners, staff and parents of Reddford House rolled up their sleeves to donate blood to those that need it most.

When the South African National Blood Services (SANBS) visited the school on 7 May, the school has already set up a hall for them and pleaded with their learners to attend, donate and encourage others to do the same. The learners did exactly that as they gave much need blood donations to SANBS.

Reddford Houses Northcliff’s Jade Hoffman, three-time blood donor said, “As soon as I come to donate blood I feel good. People need it and its a difficult thing to get yet so easy to give. It doesn’t take anything away but time away from you.” Photo: Andile Dlodlo

A first-time blood donor, Grade 11 learner Toni Lobai, shared why it was such a glorious day. “I’ve always wanted to but my weight stopped me. So I made sure I ate and when I hit the minimum weight I knew I was ready.”

Lobai was nervous but with the support of her friends and school mates, she got through the process and even shared a laugh as soon as it was done.
