Preschool learners learn all about voting

VICTORY PARK – The learners were given the task to make their own ID cards for voting in their classroom.

VICTORY PARK – King David Pre-Primary School Victory Park learned about voting and making choices on 6 May.

King David Pre-School used the opportunity to teach children about making choices through the voting process, with the senior group voting between the Israeli and South African flags and the Grade Rs voting for their class president. Six learners were given the task give a speech about why they should be chosen as they were nominated for class president and the rest of the group got to decide who they would vote for.

The learners were given the task to make their own ID cards in the classroom, which they would be able to use to vote.

“The most successful learning takes place best when children are engaged. Playful learning promotes educational development and helps prepare children for formal problem-solving when they enter the schooling environment and young adulthood,” said campus marketing manager at King David Victory Park, Nirvana Rogers.
