The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has officially announced the African National Congress (ANC) as the winner of this year’s national general elections with 57.5 per cent.

“We thank the staff of the IEC, who have had little sleep over the last few days,” said President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The DA secured 20.77 per cent followed by the EFF with 10.79 percent. However, the ANC failed to remove the DA in the Western Cape in the provincial elections.
Gauteng’s provincial legislator seats are:
ANC: 36
DA: 26
EFF: 11
VF PLUS: 1
IFP: 1
ACDP: 1
The DA received 55.45 per cent in the Western Cape followed by ANC with 28.63 per cent, while the EFF got 4.04 percent.
The ANC will remain the ruling party in other eight remaining provinces which include Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, Kwazulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West, and Northern Cape.
