Expanded Social Package looks to fill vacancies

JOBURG – Work opportunities are available thanks to the Expanded Social Package.


JOBURG – Social Development Department has called on interested parties to apply for work opportunities created through the Expanded Social Package programme.

The department is currently looking to fill vacancies under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). Those selected will be responsible for assisting with data capturing and general administration for the Expanded Social Package (ESP) Programme. A R4 000 stipend will be paid as remuneration for successful applicants.

Interested candidates who meet the following criteria are invited to apply for the positions:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be between 25 to 35 years
  • Must have matric or NQF Level 4 and basic computer literacy
  • Must be registered for the Expanded Social Package
  • Must reside in the area and ward of the registration office or informal settlement.

The Expanded Social Package (ESP) is a rebate programme that applies to owners of residential properties who have limited income and who are not pensioners. The homeowners need to be South African citizens and they should be able to prove that their annual income falls below a limit determined by the council.

The department wishes to state that the vacancies are only open to those who have not previously participated in the EPWP programme in the past.

Curriculum Vitae’s are to be submitted, along with applicants ESP number and proof of residence to their City of Johannesburg Regional Offices from 18–29 March 2019, Monday to Friday 8 am to 3.30pm daily.
