Local derby day for De La Salle Holy Cross College and Greenside High

VICTORY PARK – Competitive local derby day for local schools in the sport of hockey, netball and rugby.


VICTORY PARK – On 9 March, De La Salle Holy Cross College hosted Greenside High School for a very competitive local sports derby day.

The sports event was played as part of the schools’ preparation for the upcoming netball and hockey leagues.

Stephan Germishuys, deputy head of De La Salle Holy Cross College said, “The rugby matches were part of the Pirates School Challenge league and counted for points in the league. This ensured that the battles were intense.”

Germishuys added that it was a fantastic day filled with extremely competitive sport and a great atmosphere.

“The sports derby event was a great day for everyone and learners were inspired by competing against different schools at such a high level in our community.”
