Gauteng government invests R53 billion in infrastructure
JOHANNESBURG – Gauteng Finance MEC Barbara Creecy delivers provincial budget.
Gauteng Finance MEC Barbara Creecy said over the past five years the Gauteng government had invested R53 billion in infrastructure. Creecy was delivering her budget speech at the provincial legislature on 5 February.
The MEC said the provincial government had invested in building schools, clinics, hospitals, libraries, roads, public transport, broadband and industrial parks.
Creecy said this investment had massive social and economic benefits for the people and the economy of Gauteng.

Creecy added that the province had in the past five years attracted R199 billion in foreign direct investment and created 469 000 jobs.
