Joburg City rewards hard working staff

JOBURG – City of Johannesburg rewards hard working employee.

The MMC for Group Corporate and Shared Services Ntombi Khumalo together with MMC for Health and Social Development Dr Mpho Phalatse presented 20 Joburg City staff with certificates at the second edition of the Joburg Service With Pride (SWP) breakfast.

The SWP initiative recognises City employees who go beyond the call of duty in helping better the lives of residents through their service.

Khumalo said SWP aimed at encouraging employees to deliver the best service to the people.

“I call on all City employees to follow in the footsteps of these CoJ shining stars; to always go beyond the call of duty in serving residents of Joburg with pride. Our responsibility as a caring government is to always put the people first in everything that we do,” said Khumalo.

“We are here today to reward and honour you for the diligent service you have rendered to our most important custodians – the people of Johannesburg. Your deeds are helping to create a professional civil service that will serve Joburg residents with pride. Thanks to you for heeding the call and becoming the ambassadors of this mayoral initiative.”

Phalatse said, “We need to create a culture of always providing good, exemplary service. We are here to highlight an important principle of appreciating diligent individuals who often go beyond the call of duty to serve the residents of Johannesburg.”
