Gauteng Provincial Government holds Community Safety Awards event

JOBURG – The Gauteng Provincial Government holds the Community Safety Awards.

The Gauteng Provincial Government hosted the second annual Gauteng Community Safety Awards at the Johannesburg City Hall on 21 February.

The awards are part of the Provincial Safety Month programme which seeks to recognise and acknowledge the best performing and selfless members of Gauteng law enforcement agencies and social partners contributed positively in creating a safer and secure environment for Gauteng citizens.

Gauteng Community Safety MEC Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane delivered a keynote address at the awards.

“These awards are meant to recognise and acknowledge the outstanding contribution made by the members of the police and social partners in improving the safety and security of our people,” said Nkosi-Malobane.

“Indeed the excellent men and women here today risk their lives daily, to ensure the safety of our beautiful province and country.

“It has not been a smooth journey, but many of you here have continued to go beyond the call of duty, and even put your lives at risk to ensure that our province is safe for all.”

Lenasia CPF won the best community policing forum award.
