Learners donate blood for Valentine’s Day

VICTORY PARK – The colleges' motto this year was, "Don't just send love this Valentine's Day - save a life and donate blood."

VICTORY PARK – On 14 February, learners of De La Salle Holy Cross College in grades 10 to 12 were encouraged to donate blood as the South African National Blood Services visited the school.

Deputy principal Stephan Germishuys said, “We do this as we feel it is a vital thing to be involved, we know that donating blood saves lives and it does have an impact on the learners to know that they can make a difference.” As soon as the learners turn 16 years old, they are encouraged to donate blood. Sanbs statistics show that learners who do this end up donating blood throughout their lives.
