Gauteng Model Boat Club to host third annual exhibition at Emmarentia Sailing Club

EMMARENTIA – Miniature warships that have been painstakingly handcrafted over thousands of hours will be on display.

Calling all model-boat enthusiasts, as the third annual Gauteng Model Boat Club (GMBC) exhibition takes place at Emmarentia Dam and you are invited.

So if you looking for a pleasant way to spend your day, head on over to the event that will take place at the Emmarentia Sailing Club on Louw Geldenhuis Drive.

All sorts of model boats will be on display for the public.

There will be an exhibition of over 30 model boats – tugs that work like the real thing, submarines that look menacing as they patrol and dive the waters of Emmarentia Dam and model racing yachts that work by remote control and sail with the same principles as full-scale yachts.

You will also see miniature warships that have been painstakingly handcrafted over thousands of hours.

A hobby with a labour of love. GMBC is a bunch of enthusiastic miniature boat builders who will be more than willing to share their hobby with members of the public. Something for the entire family to enjoy.

Model boat enthusiasts are welcome to join in on the day.

Learn the concept of sailing a yacht by remote control and the youngsters can see most of these boats in action on the water.

The event will take place on 28 October and admission is free.
