Three arrested in Emmarentia for snatching a handbag

EMMARENTIA – CAP Security apprehend handbag snatchers.

The police have arrested three men for common robbery on the evening of 15 October.

The men allegedly robbed the victim of their cell phone while walking in Emmarentia.

Communication officer of Parkview Police Station Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said, “The complainant was walking along Barry Hertzog Avenue and Troon Street in Emmarentia when she saw four males walking in the opposite direction. One of them crossed the road and grabbed the victim’s bag and ran away and the victim screamed for help.”

CAP Security had a patrol car in the area at the time of the incident and responded to the matter.

According to Captain Sibeko, CAP chased the suspects and eventually apprehended them.

They then contacted Parkview police, who searched the suspects.

The suspects were charged with common robbery and appeared at the Johannesburg Magistrate Court on 16 October.

Captain Sibeko said the station appreciated the efforts of CAP.

“Parkview SAPS would like to thank CAP Security for their swift response and teamwork in ensuring that the community is safe.”
