Sizzling dance moves on show as Eeufees Oord Old Age Home hosts Summer Dance

WESTDENE – Senior citizens hit the dance floor.

The residents at Eeufees Oord Old Age Home in Westdene geared up for the summer season in the best way possible.

They hosted a Summer Dance on 11 October this year and it was well attended and enjoyed by the residents there.

Jean and Allan Marais share a special dance as they look forward to their 51st wedding anniversary on 13 October.

Organiser of the dance, Marilyn Peffer said “It’s summertime, we are in spring and we are looking forward to summer. This dance is to get everyone in the summer spirit and just to have something fun and different to do.”

Patricia van Wyk and Marilyn Peffer organised Eeufees Oord Old Age Home’s first summer dance and believed it was a success.

The dance was also a pre-celebration of an upcoming wedding anniversary.

Allan, DJ of the dance, and his wife Jean will be celebrating their 51st wedding anniversary on 13 October. They were given the chance to have a special waltz at the dance.

With DJ Allan serving up the music, people coupled up and hit the dance floor all day long.

Residents at Eeufees Oord Old Age Home enjoy the first summer dance.

Peffer thanked everyone who helped her organise the dance. “I would like to thank everybody who assisted me in making this possible. The cooperation was out of this world.”
