Police are asking the community to help bring justice to the killers of a beloved armed reaction officer.
Grant Baaitjies of Delta Security was shot when he was attending to a business robbery on 9 August.
According to Brixton Police Station spokesperson, Jeanette Backhoff, three suspects entered a shop, pointed their firearms at the people in the store and demanded cash and cigarettes.
One of the store occupants pushed the panic button and Baaitjies was the first responder.
Upon his arrival, he was shot in his vehicle and rushed to Garden City Clinic where he was admitted.
After weeks of waiting for a recovery, Baaitjies succumbed to his injuries and unfortunately passed away last week.
Police believe that the individual in the photo below has information with regards to the shooting incident.
They, therefore, urge the community to come forward with information about the person in the photograph. They have not stated that the individual was directly involved in the incident.
According to Backhoff, the Brixton policing precinct lost a man of dedication and selflessness.

“He made himself available to partake in all station operations such as crime prevention, social crime prevention and all integrated operation including those with security companies.”
